Our Year 4/5 camping adventure was an unforgettable experience filled with excitement, teamwork, and plenty of outdoor challenges! From the moment it began, the children immersed themselves in camp life, showing enthusiasm resilience.. and a real sense of adventure!

One of the highlights was tent constructing, where pupils worked brilliantly together to build their temporary homes for the evening. This was followed by an engaging archery session, where they practised focus and precision- many discovering a hidden talent for hitting the target! The adventure continued with a fun and challenging survival activity, where children learned essential outdoor skills… with an unexpected twist! They had to survive being targeted by a playful “Super-Soaker” attack, testing their problem-solving skills, teamwork and ability to think quickly under pressure – lots of laughter included!

As the evening set in, the fun did not stop. The children enjoyed a delicious dinner of pizza and chips, the perfect fuel after a busy day. Later, they danced the night away at a lively silent disco, followed by an exciting game of hide and seek in the dark, adding just the right amount of thrill and adventure to the evening. Another memorable moment was learning fire-lighting skills, where the children worked carefully and responsibly to create their own fires. They were rewarded with tasty s’mores, bringing everyone together around the campfire for a truly special shared experience.

The following morning, everyone woke up to a well-earned breakfast of scrumptious pancakes, the perfect end to an incredible trip. Throughout the adventure, the children demonstrated fantastic teamwork, resilience and a willingness to step outside their comfort zones.

It was a wonderful opportunity to build confidence, friendships, and lifelong memories in the great outdoors!
